As Everyday Health suggests “Self-care is not synonymous with self-indulgence or being selfish. Self-care means taking care of yourself so that you can be healthy, you can be well, you can do your job, you can help and care for others, and you can do all the things you need to and want to accomplish in a day.”
Self-care is part of the answer to how we can all better cope with daily stressors. What are some examples of good self-care? The Life Hype has some of the following suggestions:
- Watch Netflix
- Be Creative by trying D.I.Y. projects
- Volunteer in the community
- Exercise as it relieves stress
- Drink a cup of tea or your favorite beverage
- Invest in your well-being
- Make a Self-Care kit
- Take a Nap
- Take a shower or bath
- Eat your favorite meal
- Listen to your favorite music, podcasts, or books
There are a lot of great suggestions for Self-Care routines on the internet right now. I suggest that you try some out. Find some activities that suit you and make your Holidays a little easier. A great resource to explore is the International Self-Care Foundation where they explore the pillars of self-care.
